Sign Language Improved My Memory

I have been signing with my daughter since she was 5 months old. It's been great! She knows over 250+ signs at 20 months. She speaks in 3-5 word sentences. She knows most of the alphabet. She counts to 5. She knows her basic colors. I think a lot of this is due to the physical nature of sign language. It helps make abstract items concrete.

I've started using sign language to help me remember people's names. I finger spell the person's name several times and if I know a sign that fits, I visualize myself signing it. This works much better than asking the person their name the next three times I see them!
